Bio

 

Vic Adamo is the solo project of Marco Adamovic, a Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist, poet and songwriter, who operates at various intersections and genres in music. Influenced by Noam Chomsky, Zack de la Rocha, Chuck D, and George Orwell, Vic Adamo engages the power of music and culture beyond entertainment, offering observations from personal, political, and social perspectives, encouraging listeners to think more critically about the world around them, as well as their relationships and agency within it.

Primarily a student of the drum, Vic Adamo connects rhythm with a multi-instrumentalist sensibility, approaching music and songs from multiple perspectives; working towards a compelling emotional experience. Best Intentions was his first single, engineered by Calvin Hartwick (July Talk, Cadence Weapon, METZ, OBGMS), focused on an analog sound recorded at beautiful Dream House Studios in Toronto. His second single, Underrated, continues the approach of recording and performing all instruments, but represents his first full production.

A first-generation Canadian with roots from the former Yugoslavia, Vic Adamo writes from a human perspective, trying to cut through the noise of the modern day and focus instead on the instantaneous connection and emotion that music sparks in us all. He strives to create community and build a better world through his music and work in education, promoting values of collaboration, authenticity, and creativity.

Underrated is the second single from Vic Adamo. All music, lyrics, and production by Vic Adamo. Underrated was born as a creative exercise in response to an Isabella Rossellini Quote:

“Imperfection charms me. Familiar things move me…A celebration of what we have, instead of what we long for.”

As the hook suggests, it is important to understand the relationship between the rain and sun, and how finding the space to exist in both, equanimously, is a life’s work.

Best Intentions is Vic Adamo’s first single, reflecting the world we live in from social, political, and personal perspectives. After playing in many bands over the years, I’m really excited with how this turned out. What you hear is 100% me from the vocals, to the instrumentation.
